The word yoga means “union” in Sanskrit, the language of ancient India where yoga originated. We can think of the union occurring between mind, body and spirit, or the union of breath and movement.
Through yoga you will develop strength and flexibility and begin to create balance in the body. You will also develop a sense of calm and peace and begin to create balance in the mind. You will develop your own practice and your own personal experience of yoga will always be evolving.
The benefits of yoga are many, but on its simplest level yoga is a means of maintaining health and wellbeing in an increasingly stressful society.
